Academic Collaborations
I enjoy sharing my research with others, partnering with academic, clinical, and policy projects, and providing feedback on the work of students and colleagues. Please email me at em1061@georgetown.edu for any invitation to engage, review, co-construct, or imagine projects together. Please provide detailed descriptions about the event or project when you reach out, including information about dates, timelines, and ideas.
Media Requests
I am an expert on the interlocking features of health and society, with experience working the intersections of trauma, mental health, poverty and social dynamics, diabetes, cancer, and wellbeing. I have written extensively about the theory and application of syndemics. Additionally, I have written about culture, politics, and COVID-19 in America, and am currently conducting research on Long Covid and other contested illnesses. For interviews, please email me at em1061@georgetown.edu with specific information about dates and time availability.
Speaking Engagements
I am available to speak at events about my new book Unmasked: COVID, Community, and the Case of Okoboji. I can also speak on topics focused on culture and health, social determinants of health, trauma and chronic illness, cultural dynamics of mental illness, and syndemics. For all speaking requests, please be as detailed as possible in your email me at em1061@georgetown.edu about what you would like me to discuss, who the talk is for, when, and other relevant information about the workshop, lecture, panel, or other event.
